In this episode, Learn how to succeed with your fitness and weight loss goals by applying a few simple techniques to avoid the second mistake in the countdown of the 5 biggest mistakes in weight loss.
Here is the second biggest mistake in weight loss (ie#2): No Plan
You may think you have a plan, but if you’ve been working out for at least 6 months or more and your body hasn’t changed then something is not working and it is likely your fitness plan or lack of plan. This applies on all three foundations, training, nutrition and mindset. Check out this episode to learn how to apply planning to training, nutrition and mindset to reach your goals.
Think about this: If you set out to drive somewhere and haphazardly took streets, would you get to your destination? No, you’d just get frustrated, maybe give up completely, and definitely not get where you want to go.
Now think of that in terms of your fitness goals. How can you possibly reach them without a plan? Lots of people say “oh its in my head” well, it can’t be! There is too much to keep in your head!
Apply this to training:
Workouts are only as good as it takes for your body to adapt to them.
Do you plan your workouts in advance?
Do you have your goal set for each workout?
Consider WHAT you need to plan:
- Your goals
- Your stepping stones
- Your daily actions
- Your meals
- Your workouts
- When to evaluate your progress
WHEN This needs to be done is equally important.
Planning should be:
- Daily planning
- weekly
- monthly
- quarterly
- yearly
How to plan:
- Define a Goal: Know your reasons!
- Have a Plan: Relieve stress through control
- Have a Deadline: Sense of urgency
- Check-in System: Be accountable to yourself!
